I loved learning about Japanese etiquette! Basic is the idea that others are to be considered before self. And it is so interesting that social distancing, mask wearing, and cleanliness have been practiced for centuries. No wonder Japan has successfully kept Covid 19 cases down.
I also enjoyed the pairing of the kei car article as a contrast to the uniformity and expected preciseness of Japanese etiquette. Many kei cars are for single drivers, are colorful and exemplify exciting “personalities” of their own. It’s as if this podcast shows two sides of Japanese culture. It blends old, tried and true customs with new and exciting aspects of contemporary life in Japan!
